I spent most of my young life pretending I didn’t want to be a writer. That may sound strange coming from someone who has made a living as a writer and editor for more than two decades. For me it was a struggle to find my voice, and realizing I have the vision to paint a picture no one else can paint.
I don’t have literary influences per se; musicians have inspired my writing as much as other writers. I believe my best writing happens when I stay true to my characters and to myself. Authors whose work I enjoy and admire include Jim Benton (Dear Dumb Diary, Happy Bunny), John Irving, John Updike, Diana Gabaldon, Emily Dickinson, and Sue Grafton.
Photography is another of my passions, and another medium for my vision. A gallery of my work will be online soon through Blue Stone Media’s photography division.
